Jon Smith,
NACC Asst. Education Director, is an arranger, performer, and recording engineer in the Greater Philadelphia area. He is currently the Director of Vocal Arranging for The Vocal Company, a member of the Swingles, and is the former Music Director of The Hyannis Sound, Cape Cod’s all-male professional a cappella group. Jon holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Delaware where he also studied Music Education. While at UD, Jon directed Vocal Point and helped lead them to ICCA Finals in 2014 where they placed 3rd and he received the Outstanding Arrangement Award for their entire set. In addition to a cappella, he also sang in the internationally-acclaimed UD Chorale and had several leading roles in the UD Opera productions. Jon is a CARA-nominated arranger and his arrangements have been featured on several compilations including BOCA, Voices Only and Voices Only Forte. After having great success working with his own singers, Jon specializes as a coach and masterclass clinician for groups, almost all of whom received placements and awards during the 2015 ICCA season. In his most recent performing endeavors, Jon will be singing with The Swingle Singers in London in January of 2016.
